Mar 30, 2022 · It’s one of the best grips for S&W 686. The material of choice here was a shocker, to say the least. Instead of opting for rubber, silicone, or even wood, they went for G10. G10 is a FR4 composite material that’s lightweight and more durable than composite and plastic. It’s odd, that’s for sure, but I can see why they went for it. I've always wanted Rosewood Combat grips on my blued S&W 568 .357 Magnum ever since I saw them on Hickok45's stainless steel 686. Although they contrast better on the 686, they still look great on the 568. They look slim and tight on the 586, but more importantly, they feel nice and tight.
