SMGs because Mercenary classmod. There is no magic to Lilith using SMGs beyond those weapons receiving good benefit from Quicksilver (if spec'd) and Mercenary (if equipped). The hellfire is one of the best SMGs in the game. As an elemental weapon and an SMG, it plays to Lilith's skills.
