Sadly, when the weapon is thrown it is removed from the hotbar (all of them including custom) then re added. The best way to maintain it is to arrange it in a manner you can handle when it auto sets itself.

hotbar doesnt expand currently. it used to extend horizontally, but ea atm doesnt have it. full launch looks like its gonna have vertical expand tho, i've seen 4 rows. Spells disappeared from Hotbar. Playing as a sorcerer I noticed that after the prologue on the nautiloid two of my cantrips have disappeared from the hotbar - those being fire bolt and ray of frost, rendering me unable to use them. I can still play my sorcerer like a more powerful cleric-wizard but I would very much like these cantrips back.
